Telehealth is using video or audio to provide services. When utilizing telehealth options, scheduling appointments can be easier and there is no worry of being stuck in traffic or finding parking. Telehealth allows for flexibility and for your mental wellbeing to be a priority in your already busy life. Being in the comfort of your home or safe place can also make starting the therapy process less stressful. At this time, telehealth is a preferred option for clients and providers to prevent infection and spread of COVID-19. In-person sessions are not available.
Telehealth is not suited for everyone. I can only provide services to individuals in California and Colorado. Mental health professionals are licensed by the state and therapy services cannot be provided to anyone residing outside of California or Colorado. Some individuals may also benefit from in-person therapy over virtual services. During the initial consultation we can determine if telehealth is a suitable option for you. At this time, I am only offering telehealth services. If it is determined that in-person services would best fit your needs, I can provide you with in-person providers and resources.
I utilize a secure, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant video platform designed specifically for healthcare professionals. I recommend clients use a computer or tablet for sessions over cell phones, if possible. Also, having wi-fi connection and a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed by others is important.
